What a ride!

Dear all,

I’m really happy with my myself and all the music I have released over these last two weeks or so. I just been going with the flow. I hope you guys have enjoyed listening.

I had a brainwave the other night, and had some interesting ideas about the website and how I could improve it. So I am going to take a break from releasing music and see what I can come up with.

I am so happy that I giving my music and the website some TLC again. I guess its important to believe in yourself innit.

Thank you everyone for all your support!

Love Jamie

I like making music again

Dear all,

These days, I’ve got into this habit where I think too much, so much so that I end up not actually doing things, you know what I’m talking about?

but anyway, yesterday, I was getting ready to go out with my friends, and while I was in the house I noticed I was thinking a lot and just sitting in a chair lol

Then I thought of just making some music on Reason, and then BANG!

I had like an amazing experience composing, check out the result below. I can’t believe I made this in like an hour or less i dunno.

Man whats wrong with me.

Peace

Back Online

Dear all,

so…Hi!

I don’t know if anyone still follows this website, but I’ve taken a break from it for a while with the intention of not returning, but I don’t know lol

Electronic music and composing means too much to me, and I realised I shouldn’t give it up. I’ve been composing all my life.

For those of you that got this message, thank you for sticking with me.

p.s. instead of being unemployed for the rest of my life, I’m slowly trying to build confidence and have started applying for admin jobs so I can get some purpose in my life.

You know I love you. peace

The End of the Journey

Dear all,

This is my last post on this website. I have decided to end the journey here at the end of the year 2013. This website will stay here as long as it lasts on the web, and I keep it as a testament to my human experience, showing me a period of my life. I hope you have enjoyed yourself on this journey and I thank anyone who has visited this site.

Farewell

Jamie Rama Productions 2013

Dear all,

This year has featured a lot of changes and now that this year is coming to a close, its amazing how far I have come. This year has been on the whole all about my experiences at university.

When it came to the start of this year, things were not looking too good for the future of my degree. The biggest change was picking it up again and throughout March to this very day things have been going quite well. One of my highlights was the Max Portfolio that I completed for one of my assignments as I really thought it was too hard, but guess what….I managed to get a distinction for this assignment. Just shows eh!

The start of the year also kicked off another collab with Richard and Elliot as we worked on bringing Oranges and Lemons into fruition. I really liked this experience with them, it felt it was a lot more focused and I feel we all really put our best.

A lot of the projects I worked on revolved around my university assignments, as I am sure you have seen, but I also composed a video showreel type track and some free compositions based on a music making idea I had. It really helped loosen some barriers when composing and get whats in my head into musical form as freely as possible.

I want to say a big thank you to all my friends and family for all the support. Highlights with my friends include when they all went on Skype and talked to me and gave me some advice, and also when Elliot let me stay over an extra night and we had a drink in the pub together. It really helped keep things going. I want to say thank you to my professor too, as he has given me so many tips about electronic music and composing. I am very grateful to have talked to someone who has had so much experience in his field.

I think one of my biggest achievements has been my solo EP that I made. I always said that I wanted to do some sort of solo electronic album and I am so glad that I continued with university, as it gave me inspiration and discipline to get it going.20130811_173656

Last but not least, I would like to say a big thank you to Dan and Chrissy, because thanks to them, I was able to perform many Scrapbook Dreams songs throughout this year and it has been a pleasure being given the opportunity to perform and give something back to people from your heart.

 My love, Jamie

September Announcements

Dear all,

I mentioned in my previous post back in June, that I would be taking a break from the website and focusing on finishing my principal work at university. My first announcement, is to inform all of you that everything went well and I managed to finish all the assignments. You can look forward to some more posts about them over the next couple of months.

The second announcement I would like to make is in regards to this website. I have made a decision to stop updating this website at the end of the year. I have enjoyed this journey very much, it has been a tremendous learning experience and I can now see that I am coming to the end of that journey.

My third and final announcement is that I am going to be releasing a new EP later this month called, A Better View. This is an EP of solo electronic music and is my first attempt at creating my own form of electronic sound.

Love you loads babe, Jamie

New Direction

Dear all,

After giving it much thought, I have decided to take a new direction with this website.

I realise these days that my main strength in music comes from piano compositions and my ability to sing and write songs on the guitar.

I also realise now that my passion for electronic music really comes from my hobby of synthesisers.

So what this means is, I see myself as more of a musician who sings, plays piano and guitar, and has a hobby for synthesisers.

I can do other things like play clarinet, violin and use electronic music software, but I consider this extra and not my main focus. This has been a major milestone for me as I though I wanted to be a producer with a studio and record other artists etc.

Now I know I don’t have to take the electronic music so seriously and that it is ok just to be a musician who has a hobby in synths. I don’t have to be able to do everything, record, arrange, mix, I can leave that to someone else, who has strength in that area.

Of course no one told me to put pressure on myself, but I guess that’s what I did.

In terms of the website, this means that I won’t be releasing much electronic music anymore. My material will be focused more on piano and guitar composition and maybe some sounds I have made on a synthesiser, who knows?

The only project I’m working on these days is Scrapbook Dreams, which I hope to release hopefully by the end of this year.

I feel a lot calmer these days as I know I am doing the right thing and I am being realistic and true to myself.

Love for all,

JAMIE

Taking a Break

Dear all,

Just to let you know that I am taking break from the website and won’t be releasing any new material until September (at the latest)

I am going to use this time to concentrate on finishing my principal study work at university with the last assignment (exam) due in September. I also want to use this time to develop some new music ideas I have that I would like to release at some point.

I hope to make some annoucements of new projects coming your way soon but for now, enjoy the website.

If you have any questions, drop me a line on my contact page!

Love to you all!

p.s. I will still be updating the uni assignments blog post series.

New Testimonials Page

Dear all,

Over the last year I have managed to be involved in a number of large scale projects that I am really grateful for. They include:

1. The Last of the Steamers

2. Song of the Year 2012

3. Oranges and Lemons (currently in development)

I had an idea that it would be good to have a page dedicated to past clients feedback where they can explain about the whole experience and offer any advice. I feel this will be beneficial for me to take on board, but also for other people looking to see my progress or collaborate with me.

I hope this page grows as time goes on and I broaden my horizon and work with more people.

Thank you for supporting me!

Jamie
