This is the final post in this series and I hope you have enjoyed reading all the posts prior to this one as much as I have. The last assignment I was given was to create a twelve minute though developed piece of music, that had the capacity to engage the listener throughout the whole duration of the piece.

Dear all,
The next group of assignments I was given was really a folio in itself. I had a number of mixing tasks to complete as well as some other interesting research projects. This was all in aid to show that I could make progress in the areas of sound engineering that are relevant to a typical freelancing composer.

The next task I was given was to develop my own chosen specialism in music and produce twenty minutes worth of material.
The idea here was to work on crafting my own music based on what style I liked, and basically produce the best music that I could at the time.
Dear all,
I was given the opportunity to compose a musical layer in my next assignment. This was part of a massive project that involved all the students in my course. We each had to compose a separate layer which would then be combined to accompany some time lapse footage of Milton Court.
Dear all,
The next assignment I was given was to compose some music for a silent film. I have actually done a similar project like this in my second year. This involved making music for a more comedy type of scene, but the film I was working on this time, was none other than…The Lost World.

I am in my final year at uni and I have decided to do a little blog series here about all the assignments I’ve been given this year, and talk about how it went and what challenges I faced, as well as what I learnt.
There are about six assignments in total for this year and the first one is a portfolio of MaxMSP projects.
